Route 66 RV Network Guest Blog #rv #travel #route66

With spring break starting for kids and the beautiful weather rolling in, now is the perfect time to head out and go camping. If you’re a budget conscious person like I am and are looking for great deals for your trip, you came to the right place. I’m going to tell you how you can save some money on campsites and camping accessories this year.

Route 66 RV Network

If you own an RV this is a great place to start. The Route 66 RV Club membership is only $24.95/year and members can get exclusive deals only offered to Route 66 RV club members. With this membership you’ll receive a 10% discount on every night you camp at a KOA campground anywhere in North America. With over 500 locations you are guaranteed to find somewhere to stay! You’ll also receive a 10% discount on  parts and accessories at any Route 66 RV Network parts store. There are over 150 dealers in the network across North America, so if you are in need of a part on your vacation, any Route 66 dealer will be able to help! Have pets? You also get a 5% discount on VPI Pet insurance. For the golfers out there, this membership gives you a free 90 day vacation pass at over 2,000 golf courses in the US. These are just some of the deals offered. To find out more you can visit their website at!

There are many discount camping clubs out there to choose from. So if you’re willing to search a little bit you can find the one that is best for you.

Discounts on Camping merchandise

Looking for camping gear but don’t want to spend and arm and a leg? Then check out these great deals. If you like name brands, I highly suggest you check out the REI Outlet store online. They have a special going on right now that saves you $20 when you spend $100 or more, plus you can save up to 50% off name brand camping items when you shop the outlet store. Who doesn’t want to get REI gear at half the price?

Another place to check out deals on camping gear is groupon. They have a great selection of items at amazing prices. For instance you can get a Sport Force Multifunction Hydration Backpack for $24.99 which was originally $80! Or you can relax in a 2 person hammock for only $27.99 reg price was $54.99. There are so many items on there I couldn’t possibly name them all but if you go to and search “camping” it will pop up hundreds of deals for you.

If you are an avid online shopper like myself, I never hit that final purchase button until I’ve searched for an online coupon code. You’d be surprised at the type of savings you can get if you just take about 5-10 min to search. Usually I will end up scoring free shipping but even that helps out tremendously. If I can save an extra $5 or more on my purchase I have no qualms taking that extra five minutes to find a coupon code. Retailmenot is a good place to start to find savings on merchandise. For instance, Coleman has a coupon code for 20% off + free shipping but on their website it only says 20% off tents and coolers. Nowhere on the site did it say 20 % off your entire purchase, but lo and behold, the coupon code on retailmenot saved me 20% and gave me free shipping on an airbed and a lantern! Whoo hoo! Why pay full price when you don’t have to.

Hopefully this post has somewhat helped on how you can save on your next camping trip. The internet offers so many advantages to finding the best deals out there. Good luck and happy saving!
